Heart

Description
The heart is the muscular organ which sits above your diaphragm and behind your sternum. It pumps and receives blood through arteries and veins, exchanging oxygen with your lungs as you breathe in the rhythm of life.

The heart has four chambers:
1. The Right Atrium inhales blood from veins, and exhales it to RV.
2. The Right Ventricle inhaling blood from RA, exhales it to the lungs where it is loaded with oxygen.
3. The Left Atrium inhaling oxygenated blood from the lungs, exhales it to LV.
4. The Left Ventricle inhaling oxygen-rich blood from LA, exhales it to the Body.

Approach
Sitting
In sitting meditation, gently bring your felt-sense to your heart. Like shining a flashlight, focus the light of attention on the musculature inside, and the tissues surrounding the heart.

To feel is to know. Without using thought, use your eyes and felt-sense awareness to look within. Hold awareness for several seconds to minutes and breathe as you open to what is there. If it's available to you, look within each chamber.

Be present, compassionate and nonjudgmental, no matter what arises.

Shaking
In standing meditation, inhale and come up onto your toes. Exhale, come down onto your feet, and begin shaking your whole body (it is recommended for women to wear a sports bra).

Relax any tension, shaking gently and non-violently. Close the eyes to feel more, if balance can be maintained. Again, bring your awareness to your heart, and shake the heart lovingly away from the surrounding fascia and connective tissue, so that it is free and unbound. Shake out grief, hatred, despair. If it's available to you, shake out each chamber. Shake for several minutes, feel and let your heart express...

After many minutes of observation and processing, shake in love. Shake in tenderness. Shake in acceptance, and light.

When you are ready to complete the process, come to a stop. Stand and feel your connection to greater life.

Spleen

Description
The spleen is located in the upper left quadrant of the abdomen, and sits behind the rib cage. It acts as a blood filter, controlling the amount of red blood cells and blood storage in the body, and helps to fight infection by producing white blood cells that kill off bacteria and other invaders.

Approach
Sitting
In sitting meditation, gently bring your felt-sense to your spleen.
Like shining a flashlight, focus the light of attention on the perimeter of the spleen, the surrounding fascia, as well as the tissues inside.

To feel is to know. Without using thought, use your eyes and felt-sense awareness to look within. Hold awareness for several seconds to minutes and breathe as you open to what is there.

Be present, compassionate and nonjudgmental, no matter what arises.

Large Intestine

Description
The large intestine (colon) is the last part of the digestive process in humans. Receiving food from the small intestines, it absorbs water and nutrients while separating out the waste. This digestive process begins at the cecum, moves up the ascending colon on the right side of the body, across the abdomen through the transverse colon, down the left side body through the descending colon, and out the body via sigmoid colon and rectum.

Approach
Sitting
In sitting meditation, gently bring your felt-sense to your large intestine. Like shining a flashlight, focus the light of attention on the musculature inside, and the surrounding tissues.

To feel is to know. Without using thought, use your felt-sense awareness to look within, spending several seconds to minutes at each section of the colon. Hold your awareness as you open to what is there.

Be present, be compassionate and nonjudgmental, no matter what arises.

Again, bring your awareness to your large intestines, and shake the musculature lovingly away from the surrounding fascia and connective tissue, so that it becomes free and unbound. Shake out fear, grief, anger and worry. If it's available to you, shake out each section: cecum, ascending colon, transverse colon, descending colon, sigmoid colon, and rectum. Shake for several minutes, feel and let your large intestines express...

After many minutes of observation and processing, shake in love. Shake in tenderness. Shake in acceptance, and light.

When you are ready to complete the process, come to a stop. Stand and feel your connection to greater life.

Lungs

Description
The lungs are a sacred and essential organ of life. They are the wings of the heart, and the oceans of our bodies, inhaling and exhaling in the rhythm of life.

Approach
Sitting
In sitting meditation, gently bring your felt-sense to your lungs. Like shining a flashlight, focus the light of attention slowly and patiently on the passage, starting at the nose, mouth, throat, trachea, and down into the two main bronchi, spreading awareness into right and left lung as you reach the bronchioles and alveoli (the millions of tiny thin-walled air sacs inside). Then bring your felt-sense to the connective tissue surrounding the lungs.

To feel is to know. Without using thought, use your eyes and felt-sense awareness to look within. Hold awareness for several seconds to minutes and breathe as you open to the emotion and impressions that are being held there.

Again, bring your awareness to your lungs, and shake them lovingly away from the surrounding fascia and connective tissue, so that they are free and unbound. Lungs can be sticky so shake them away from the back, the sides and the front of the upper thoracic rib cage. Shake out grief, shame, regret. Shake out the past impressions your lungs have been holding for you, in order for you to keep going. Become aware, releasing their burdens. If it's available to you, shake out any areas where there is tension through the passage. Shake out the nose, mouth, throat, trachea, the two main bronchi, and spread awareness into right and left lung. Shake out the bronchioles until you reach the alveoli. Shake for several minutes, letting your lungs express.

After many minutes of observation and processing, shake in tenderness. Shake in love, acceptance, and light.

When you are ready to complete the process, come to a stop. Stand and feel your connection to greater life.

Shake out fear, hatred, grief, despair.
